Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing Today

February 13, 2013

The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Comprehensive Immigration Reform today with the witnesses to include Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on the first panel. The second panel includes a mix of speakers, both in support of and in opposition to CIR. The group will also include journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, author of an opinion piece in yesterday’s New York Times and another high-profile article nearly two years ago in which he disclosed his undocumented status.

An analysis suggests that many conservative lawmakers on the Senate committee will highlight the difficulty of crafting a bill for Comprehensive Immigration Reform which can pass Congress.
